BEDA: Blog Every Day in April; April 6th

April 6th
I need to tell Amerah a story, and so I'm killing two birds with one stone (cliche) by blogging about it for my BEDA blog... Yeah, story:
I was having a cool conversation with my former Seminary teacher, Brother Anderson, and we were talking about how non-fiction literature was good, and biographies were cool, but to write one, you have to be a semi-good story-teller as well. So, I was telling him about the conversation that Amerah and I were having via text message last night/this morning. I was telling him about how we've been doing email quizzes for a while and about how we save them and laugh at ourselves. I also talked about how that's sort of how Amerah and I keep in contact, (besides, like, Twitter and Facebook), and Brother Anderson was like, "That's very interesting. I like the idea of you two maintaining a friendship by doing email quizzes back and forth, and I also like how you save them and laugh at yourselves years later, because it's important to know where you are, but it's also important to know how you got there... I think you could write a very good article, if not an excellent book about how you maintain your friendships using technology and email quizzes."
I thought this was absolutely hilarious, because we were totally kidding about how important email quizzes were to our development or whatever.... I also thought that it was kind of hilarious that he was the first person to EVER find our email-quiz-doing interesting. This, my friends is my story... There was a lot more to what our conversation was about, but I don't remember how exactly things went, and I'm kind of too busy working on stuff to write it all out.

BEDA: Blog Every Day in April; April 5th

April 5th
Today I am going to talk about Seminary, because I'm creepy. I like them because I relate to them all differently. Brother Craven is crazy and random, Brother Black likes books (and bookshelves) and Queen, Brother Anderson is philosophical and understands more about what I'm struggling with than I do (Seriously. He's like Leslie, he can read my mind), Brother Burger is the awkward person in me, Brother Mickelson is the sarcastic one. He also shares my love of the internet (Twitter) and technology. Brother Rees, I have not had yet... But he's probably pretty awesome. He has glasses and he talks loudly. I like those guys a lot... So much that I incorporated them into my novel.... Yeah, so, anyway.... Cool, cool, cool.

BEDA: Blog Every Day in April; April 4th

April 4th
Today is Alison's birthday... in two days it is my half birthday. Yes. I wanted a cake as well, but no one liked that idea. My other idea was that on our birthdays, we should give our mothers gifts. After all, we didn't do anything on out birthdays except scream and not die. Our moms had to do all the work.... This makes so much sense in my mind.

BEDA: Blog Every Day in April; April 3rd

April 3rd
Today I figure that I did pretty well with staying ahead with my Screenplay, but I'm neglecting my other writing projects a bit... I'll do them late into the night, maybe. I usually write better at that time. Also, listening to Amerah's singing is VERY motivating... ;D

BEDA: Blog Every Day in April; April 2nd

April 2nd
I have so many writing projects, it's not funny. I have to write the screenplay for Script Frenzy, I pledged to write in the revision of my NaNoWriMo novel every day for my Health class, I have to write in a stress journal for my Health class as well, and I'm blogging every day. This is a tiny bit stressful and I started on a weekend! Thank goodness I don't have Math or Science this trimester...

Hanging Out With a Hypnotist

Little background first: The new trimester has been going on for about a month now, and one of my new classes is Stage Tech. I really like being able to help produce stuff without actually having to perform (Orchestra is the only exception). So, most of the class up until a week ago was directed at getting ready for the school musical. I went to help on stage for the musical on Monday, and they ended up not needing me, so I got to just sit there are watch the play (for free!). For yesterday and today in class, our job was to undo two months worth of preparation, dismantle everything, and reset the stage for tonight, which was the girl's softball team fundraiser.
Now to hypnotists: I stayed after school to help get everything off the stage, because everything was dismantled, but still lying around. So we finally made the stage all pretty (and then I went home for a few hours). Then, I came back at 6:15. The hypnotist guy wasn't due to arrive until 6:30, so we just hung out in the sound booth (we being me, Zach, Jacob, Mr. Skinner, and Mr. Skinner's small child). When the hypnotist arrived, he got out his super cool iPod carrier and talked Zach through what music to play at what time, (at one point he started playing You Make Me Smile, and I said, "This song is.... hahaha." and he looked at me weird and Jacob said, "You're such an awkward person." And then I laughed again) then, he told Jacob what levels he wanted the lights at and when he wanted him to turn the house lights on. Then he was just sort of talking about what sort of feeling he was trying to create and was randomly like, "Oh, and I need a camera person." (notice the political correctness.... because I did....) and he looked over at me (standing stupidly under some shelves that I was barely too tall to fit underneath) and I was like, "Ooh, I'll do it. I don't have a job." and the other two were like, "Yeah." (brilliant, eh?) so he's like, "Wonderful, follow me." So I did and we went and set up his REALLY nice video camera up on a FREAKING cool tripod (that confused me and blew my mind) and he turned it on and told me where the record button was. Then, I was like, "So, I just... record the show?" and he said, "Yeah, it'll be great, get a variety of zoomed in and out parts, and thanks for doing this for me." (talk about having confidence in total strangers) so, I video the show (which was... mind blowing and a little too... I don't know.... to explain) and he hypnotized some people. Then afterwords, everyone left and I made my way up onto the stage and help stack chairs away, and then I stood by the camera until the hypnotist guy finished talking to some people (I think the guy's name was like, Kerry Sharp? I don't particularly remember.... *Googles*... yup Kerry Sharp... anyway) Then he came up and looked at me like he was a little confused as to why I was standing there and I was like, "I don't know how to... do anything." (imagine me gesturing toward the camera mounted on the tripod) and he was like, "Oh, it's cool, don't worry about." (He was super nice....) and then he put it away and then he got a piece of paper out of his shoulder bag and it had the titles of a bunch of mp3s on it and he was like, "I want to give you a free mp3 for helping me out." Then he had me write down my email address (which he read and said, "....nice.") so that he could email it to me..... and then I thanked him (twice) and then i drove my mother's minivan home (loser). :)
